FAQ

Questions US buyers ask us

What is the HS code for bagasse tableware exported from India to the USA?

Moulded sugarcane bagasse plates, bowls and clamshells are generally classified under HS heading 4823.70 (moulded or pressed articles of paper pulp). The exact US tariff line and duty rate for your product should be confirmed with your customs broker before the first shipment.

Is your bagasse tableware food-safe for the US market?

Our tableware is food-grade and made from sugarcane bagasse. US food-contact compliance is regulated by the FDA and handled by the importer, so tell us which documents your market or customers require and we will confirm which test reports we can provide.

Do you have documents for US state PFAS rules?

Several US states restrict PFAS in food packaging. Mention your state and requirements in your enquiry and our team will confirm which declarations and test reports are available for the products you want.

Do you offer private label bagasse tableware?

Yes. We offer private labeling and contract manufacturing so you can sell compostable tableware under your own brand. See our private labeling page or mention it in your enquiry.

What is the minimum order quantity?

We offer flexible order quantities. Most importers plan by full container load (20ft or 40ft high-cube), and minimums depend on the product and on whether you want private label packing. Send your target volumes and we will quote accordingly.

How is the tableware shipped to the USA?

Orders are shipped by sea in 20ft and 40ft high-cube containers from Gujarat, which is close to the ports of Mundra and Kandla. Ask for FOB or CIF pricing to your preferred US port when you request a quote.

Are the products microwave and freezer safe?

Yes. Our bagasse plates, bowls and clamshells are microwave safe and refrigerator and freezer safe, and are suitable for both hot and cold food.
